The enigmatic Penon de Ifach stands proudly at 332m at the head of Calpe, surrounded by the shimmering blue of the Mediterranean Sea. It is a huge calcareous rock, joined to the mainland by a detritic asthmus. With a protected surface area of just 45 hectares, Penon de Ifach is one of the smallest nature reserves in Europe. Despite its size, the reserve attracts approximately 100 000 visitors each year.
From the top of the rock there are views over the surrounding villages and countryside and on a clear day as far across the sea as Ibiza in the Balearic Islands.

This is a lovely area that borders on to the small pretty seaside town of Albir. The Parque comprises the Serra Gelada range which whilst not high enough to comprise mountain status has all the characteristics of such. Indeed many are of the opinion that it’s attributes are better than some actual qualifying mountains.
The traverse of the Geladas within the Parque is hard but fantastically rewarding with great views out to sea and into the valleys.

Any visit to the Costa Blanca isnt complete without a visit to Guadelest. Although it's very turisty there is a charm about the place which makes it worth the visit. Sitting at 1408m, the Puig Campana is the second highest mountain on the Costa Blanca, after Aitana at 1557m, which is behind the Puig Campana. If this mountain were to be compared to a set of teeth, it would have one tooth missing. The area around the mountain gives plenty of opportunity for easy and strenuous walks. You can either take the trail around Puig Campana, about 3-5 hours, or go all the way to the top. Very steep, but quick (1 hr). The view from the top is magnificient, on clear days you can see very, very far.

A very pleasant walk in the distinctive Sella/Relleu countryside. Dramatic views especially on the higher route from Relleu to Sella from which the entire range from Aitana to Campana and on to the sea appears particularly dramatic. You even get a glimps of the Benidorm skyscrapers in the distance.
